F.A.Q.'s

1) What is the size and scope of the Service Division?

All our facilities can take full height and full weight/load trailers and can carry out the most sophisticated trailer service requirements including preparations for MOT.

With 4 locations including 50 workshop bays; refurbishment, bodywork, repair, shotblast, paint and curtain manufacture facilities; we are capable of carrying out 80 full refurbishments and 150 full re-liveries per month in addition to a wide range of other activities including accident repairs, servicing and conversions. With 16’ bay heights and paintshops to match, we provide access from the smallest single pick-up vans to the largest 44 tonne trailer fleets.

2) What Services do you provide for: accident and normal repairs, refurbishing?

• Standard service for operational running, braking systems (with up to the minute computers for testing and setting ABS and EBS systems), electrical systems and circuits, lubrication and chassis testing.
• Pre MOT inspection and testing
• Weight testing
• Full refurbishment include shot-blast to bare bodywork, chassis strengthening, repaints and new curtains, axle and brake replacement, electrical updates and much more.
• Accident repairs to motive units and trailers including “the bear” for straightening chassis and full repaint capability.
• In house GRP division for all fibreglass and similar repairs.
• Specialist Refrigerated and insulated body repairs.

3) What types of trailers are covered (e.g. reefers, box vans, curtainsiders, tilts, tippers, tankers, skeletals)?

All forms of trailers and rigids from lifting deck and multiple deck trailers (curtain and box vans), through reefers, tippers, tankers and skeletals.

4) What facilities are available (e.g.: fridge or taillift repairs, repainting, shotblast, chassis straightening.)?

• All sites offer full repair, service, and conversion capability and most have in-floor pits for working beneath the trailer.
• Two sites have dedicated shot blast facilities and all sites have full “tallest” trailer height paint shops. Indeed the main site has recently installed 3 full drive through paint bays (opened October 2003).
• Fridge repairs are well catered for in dedicated bays with extraction facilities and pits.
• Our principal service site operates a “bear” chassis straightening unit.
• Double Deck and Lifting Deck servicing and certification.
• Collection and Deliver (usually FOC)
• In House Curtain manufacture and repair.
• Wheel base reduction/ increases.

5) What are the sizes of repair workshops, (number of bays, tradesmen, mobile fitters)?

In addition to the main site (of over 18 acres with over 120,000 square feet under cover), we also operate 3 primary sites for our service divisions.

The principal service site includes over 12,000 square feet under cover and includes the “bear” chassis straightener, a dedicated cab conversion unit, substantial workshop repair and refurbishment units and paint bays. Over 20 units can be worked upon at the same time.

Conveniently located near the M6, our second service site has recently seen its workshop space expanded, new shot blast facilities installed and a new paint bay. This gives some 8,000 square feet under cover and allows for some 8 to 10 units to be worked on concurrently.

Near to our main unit and sharing shot blast facilities our third dedicated service facility has full paint capability and can service up to 20 units at a time with some 14,000 square feet under cover.

All units have adequate trailer parking spaces to allow for WIP, trailer storage and units awaiting attention.

Our after sales department operates 8 mobile repair vans to travel the country offering after sales support and mobile service facilities including light repair work.

We also have a nation-wide network of 3rd party service sites that we can call upon for support if needed.

• Bridge bashing
