Don-Bur Strives to Become COVID-SAFE
Don-Bur has been working feverishly behind the scenes to become 'COVID-Safe' in advance of a cautious re-opening of their manufacturing facilities.
Safety of the workforce remains the top priority and tough new protocols across the site have been introduced to enforce social distancing and prevent any coronavirus spread.
One of the key factors was the necessity to limit the density of workers. David Burton, managing director at Don-Bur comments, "The manufacture of commercial vehicles is a labour intensive process and it was previously common to have several teams working on the same vehicle at once. Clearly, this cannot continue at the current time but we have found ways to ensure work can continue."
Some of the measures introduced include one-way systems, cleaning stations, access restrictions, floor marking to indicate distances and more spacious working areas to name a few. Mr Burton adds, "We obviously can't run at full capacity yet but, as we move through this transitional period, we will find better ways to optimse the workflow within the current guidelines. We now have the opportunity to bring the business out of hibernation and look forward to the careful and steady return of quality manufacturing."
